The Shooting
At around 4:15 p.m., a distressing event occurred at the Hustosky residence on Cedarbrook Drive. Dylan Hustosky was shot twice in his left arm by his wife, Kayleigh. The shooting happened through a door, as Dylan later reported in his 911 call.

Investigation and Speculations
Authorities confirmed that the gun used in the shooting was not Dylan’s service weapon. There were no prior reports of domestic violence at the Hustosky residence, and the motive behind Kayleigh’s actions remains unclear.
The case is still under investigation, and here are details from authorities.
Possible Speculations are Kayleigh’s Mental Health Problems
The motive behind Kayleigh’s actions remains unclear. Friends and family were at a loss to explain what could have driven her to such a tragic act. Some speculated that there might have been underlying mental health issues of Kayleigh that were not apparent.
Many in the community recognized the importance of addressing mental health issues and providing support for those in need. The tragedy served as a reminder of the need for open communication and access to mental health resources.
Suspicious Shooting Circumstances
- Precision of Shots: Shooting someone twice in the arm, especially through a door, seems unusual. It could be seen as either very lucky or very deliberate.
- Self-Inflicted Theory: Some people think Dylan might have shot himself and then killed Kayleigh.
He kept saying, “I was mad at you.” Does this mean he cheated on her and she found out?
Maybe.
I think he was saying “I will stay with you”. Perhaps he was trying to leave her.
The 911 call sounded authentic….
If he closed the door, and leaned against it with his left side then it could have happened. Think of many of the victims in horror movies. They lean against the door to catch their breath and to gain their sanity. Only in the horror movies the villains have knives, bats, or axes ,but not guns.
Mental health issues are real and scary!
I don’t believe a word of this no one just starts shooting her husband and he said he was leaving her well l don’t think she knew about this, and personally l think he shot her and put on this act of a 911 call. Like if she really wanted to shoot him it would not be two in his arm.
Speculative and emotionally charged comments like this are the reason why “believe all women” just doesn’t work..you are doing harm to your fellow women with your poorly contrived and inaccurate speculation.
What do you know? A woman is dead and the guy is the victim. It sounds so fabricated to me. Nothing adds up at all.
This “best man ever”, is responsible.
Was that her screaming on the 911 call?
That sounded pretty scarey
So here’s my input….
Neighbour’s saw her that day outside with her son playing, how, when and why did the son get to the relative then? Speak to those relatives to hear what they have to say.
Maybe we could have clarity on what the situation was like when he arrived home from work?
People claim to have heard him say he cheated on her, he begged her that he would stay with her etc, I didn’t hear that at all on the recording though….
The fact that the child was removed from the situation proves this was planned.
The husband knows why! There is absolutely no ways he doesn’t know why!
Maybe post-partum depression?
