  1. Just discovered your blog via Pinterest. Sooo lovely! Always good to find a Martha Stewart wannabe like myself in blogville. I don’t have my own blog anymore but am toying with a new idea. For now I’ll be following your adventures and just wanted to say Hello and good job!

  2. Hello Kate,

I love your Christmas Crackers. Did you allocated your ten sets of cracker snaps as I would love to get my hands on a set.
    LOVE your website!
    Thanks

  3. Kate, I just recently discovered your blog… and I loved it so much that I read all of your posts back to the very beginning! I hope you’re not planning to stop sharing your creative pursuits with us when 2012 comes to an end…

  4. Thank you so much for liking my post about calligraphy, Kate! I just followed your blog because it seems absolutely pretty! I’m looking forward to your next posts and ideas. So keep it up! :-)

  5. Hi Fellow Lady:) Need some help. How in the world did you create your sidebars? Just purchased Elemin theme, and I cannot figure it out. I like how your sidebar categories link to posts you’ve written in the past. Help? Your site is the coolest, and I have seen quite a bit!!

    • Hello… apologies for the late response; I am a little behind! The answer is quite a bit of trial and error and some help from the WP tech gurus via the Elemin Theme user forum (I think each WP premium theme has a dedicated site forum. Essentially you drag across an image widget for each category, and then link to the category – it will then select all posts you’ve tagged for that category heading when visitors click on it. The WP It team can help with a more detailed answer; my knowledge of it is very sketchy. Hope that helps a little if you haven’t solved the problem yet!

  6. Wow…Kate…you know I am following your blog for a while now and I just love it here, but…I just visited curbly.com and a WONDERFUL kitchen makeover caught my eye and it was linked to your blog. This is YOUR kitchen!! And I am absolutely absolutely impressed!! What a gorgeous, stylish but still so cozy result!! Congratulations!! :-) Wow…!
Here’s the link by the way. http://www.curbly.com/m/14817-before-and-after-a-living-room-to-kitchen-makeover
    Have a great weekend! :-)

  7. Found your blog when I was researching how to add images to my widgets. I see that you have done that. I have tried everything on my blog and can’t get it to work. Do I need a premium theme? I was able to get an icon by using the image widget for one of my headings but can’t use it again. If anyone out there can help, I would be so grateful. I’m getting “mind freeze”.
    Tx.

    • Hi Rebecca; I did this by dragging across an image widget for each category and then customising with specific images; I’m not sure if this functionality is only available with a premium theme (I use Elemin). It’s worth going to the WordPress user forum for the theme you’ve chosen and asking the specific question there, and also adding a link to my other other sites that have the look you want to achieve; the gurus can then give you very specific guidance on how to get the look that you want. Good luck!

  8. Hi Kate,

Thought I would take the time to post my comment to say thank you for an awesome idea. I used the link for the superhero cuffs and was amazed at how great they turned out. Instead of using buttons I used foam stickers in the shape of stars. My son had a blast helping me with it (it was his 6th birthday and we invited 13 kids). So of course I had to ask friends to help me get some toilet paper rolls :) . The party was a lot of fun to plan and this idea was pretty much last minute but so easy. It’s a craft we could do at any time and have a good time. Fantastic !

    Thanks Kate,
    Charmain

    • Hi Charmain
Lovely to hear from you and I’m so glad they were a hit – sounds like you (or rather your son..) had a brilliant party! It’s GREAT to hear when ideas are used and are a hit, so thanks for taking the time to share :-) Have a great weekend.. Kate

  9. Hi Kate, I just foun

I found you quite by accident. Isn’t that how some of life’s most delightful moments happen, though?

You are at the beginning of your mom-life and I’m in the empty nest stage but finding it really important to share my thoughts and ideas with my grown kids and anybody else who’ll listen. :) I will enjoy wandering through your beautiful and eclectic blog for ideas and inspiration and encouragement! Thanks so much…

  10. Hi Kate, thank you for your blog, it’s so much fun to read what’s doing in your household and what amazing creations you’ve devised for young Harry. Your Fathers Day blog brought back happy memories of my own dad with his clunker of a typewriter, being ever so proud of it and how he would have embraced this new technology we have today. Time flies by and our lives are filled with magic moments. Thank you for letting me share some of yours and for reminding me of my own special dad. Love from down under ….. Trish x
